Lincoln City putts on a party, at Community Days

Lincoln City’s Community Days celebration returns this week for a 65th year of fun, community building and volunteerism. Oregon Coast TODAY is proud to publish the official program for this year’s festivities.

Friday, April 12

NW Natural Bonfire

Taft Beach

Enjoy s’mores and more on the beach near Mo’s. 6 pm, 860 SW 51st Street.

 

Saturday, April 13

Rotary Mudflat Golf

Siletz Bay

A Lincoln City tradition well worth the $5 “green fees.” But don’t linger on the tee, ‘cause the tide will come back in. 10 am-1 pm. Park at Pelican back lot.

 

Scavenger Hunt

Regatta Park

Join the Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve and Lincoln City Parks and Recreation for this nature-and placed-based scavenger hunt where participants can win prizes while exploring Lincoln City’s greatest park. 2 pm, just off NE 14th Street.

 

Community Days Celebration

Lincoln City Cultural Center

Kick off the weeklong community celebration at this casual get-together with no-host bar, snacks and some food for sale. And don’t miss the announcement of this year’s awards for Volunteer of the Year, Leader of the Year, Innovator of the Year, Unsung Hero of the Year and Rising Star, recognizing an exceptional person under the age of 18. 6 pm, 540 NE Hwy. 101.

“Reviving our Hometown History”

Wednesday, April 17

Secrets of Salsa

St. Peter the Fisherman Lutheran Church

Free samples and affordable meals, plus take-home-sized homemade salsas. 5-8 pm, 1226 SW 13th Street.

 

Thursday, April 18

Ducky Derby

Lincoln City Community Center

A chance for people of all ages to place a bet on which ducky will win the race down the water slide, with proceeds benefitting the Taft Booster Club. 5 pm, 2150 NE Oar Place.

 

Food Drive

Lincoln City Cultural Center

Hardy souls will brave the coast’s April weather to drum up donations for the Lincoln City Food Pantry. 7 am-6 pm, 540 NE Hwy. 101.

 

Dia De Los Niños Carnival

Driftwood Public Library

Kids are invited to come in costume for games, food, face-painting and more. Noon-4 pm, 801 SW Hwy, 101.

Earth Day Open House

Spend the day walking along the Salmon River, learning from a selection of coastal conservation organizations and marking the official opening of the new Raindrop to Sea Trail. Fundraiser Fashion Show Gala
