The low-tech, high-entertainment Yachats La De Da Parade assembles at 11 a.m. behind the Commons, and begins at noon, traveling west on Fourth St. to Ocean View, then south on Ocean View before turning east on Beach. You can also enjoy the Yachats Ladies' Club pie social (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), the Duck for Kids Race (2:30 p.m.) and a variety of outdoor grills and restaurant specials. Clover's Day & Fireworks

This daylong celebration begins in Cloverdale with the Nestucca Valley Lions' Club Breakfast, 7 to 10 a.m., followed by the Clover's Day parade at 11 a.m., and the Mud Springs Gospel Band at noon. Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project

The Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, now in its third year, makes beaches and lakes across America “barefoot friendly.” In celebration Surfrider Foundation's 25th anniversary Barefoot Wine, Surfrider Foundation and community volunteers are embarking on a tour of 25 cleanups nationwide, including in Newport.  Following the cleanup, volunteers 21+ are invited to attend a celebration at Moby Dick’s Seafood & Spirits, featuring Barefoot wines and surf-inspired fare. 9-11 a.m. for the cleanup, celebration at 6 p.m. at Moby Dick's in City Center Newport, 541-961-8143.

WAG Dog Agility Trials

The Willamette Agility Group (WAG) is hosting their sixth annual dog agility trial in Newport this summer. It is a competition in which a dog runs through a timed obstacle course under the guidance of the handler. Dogs race against the clock as they jump hurdles, scale ramps, burst through tunnels, traverse a see-saw, and weave through a line of poles. With scoring based on faults similar to equestrian show jumping, dog agility has become an exciting and entertaining spectator event. The Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, presents the "North Coast in Flower" garden tour, a self-guided journey through gardens in Netarts and Oceanside.
