Yachats Celtic Music Festival

The Friends of the Yachats Commons Foundation have taken up the plaid mantle of the Yachats Celtic Celebration, and have announced its triumphant return. This year’s main concert event, set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, will feature Irish fiddler Kevin Burke and guitarist Cal Scott, plus the popular Corvallis Celtic group The Nettles.
The musicians will be on hand starting at noon, offering a series of workshops and a ceili o(r community dance). There will be a fiddle class with Burke, a guitar course with Scott, a lecture on the history of Celtic music with Seamus Taylor, and a dance with The Nettles. All events will take place at the Yachats Commons, W. Fourth St. and Hwy. 101 in Yachats.
Tickets, $25 for adults and $20 for children and students, include the concert, workshops and the dance. They’re on sale are Raindogs and the Green Salmon in Yachats, Waldport Video in Waldport and Oceana Natural Foods Co-op and the Newport Performing Arts Center in Newport.
