The Schooner Restaurant & Lounge and Upstairs Bar & Grill are preparing for an annual Thanksgiving Day Benefit with a difference.

The two Netarts businesses have partnered together for many years on a fund-raising feast, with 100-percent of proceeds donated to the Oregon Food Bank — Tillamook County Services. 

Last year, the event raised more than $26,000 and, due to COVID-19, this year’s need is even greater, with requests for food assistance rising by 40 percent.

In light of Oregon’s recently tightened restrictions on in-person dining, organizers are switching gears to offer take-out meals only. In an attempt to combine efforts, patrons will only be able to access meals from The Schooner this year.
The meal includes all the traditional fare — turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, rolls and pumpkin pie.
