A real high-brass performance

Swing by the Gleneden Beach Community Club to enjoy the Lincoln Pops Big Band this Thursday, Dec. 21.

With 18 musicians and four vocalists, and members ranging in age from 18 to their late 70s, the Pops plays favorites from the swing era, Latin charts and all kinds of dance music. The big sound is created by trumpets, trombones, saxophones, piano, bass, drums, guitar and vibraphone.

The Pops perform at the club every third Thursday of each month except January, from 7 to 9:30 pm. There is a large wooden dance floor for those who want to cut a rug, and plenty of seating for those who just want to sit, listen and snack on fresh Otis Café pie.
Tickets, sold at the door, are $10 or $5 for students. Dance lessons are available at no extra charge starting at 6 pm.

The Gleneden Beach Community Club is located at 110 Azalea Street in Gleneden Beach. For more information, call 503-949-8222.
