A smart use of time

The Art Smart program of kids’ art classes will return to Lincoln City on Saturday, Jan. 15, open to young artists aged six to 13.

The series runs every Saturday through the end of March, offering 11 days of learning for a one-time fee of $25.

Art Smart classes are organized around an adventure story that continues each week. This year, the class will embark on a time travel adventure — learning about subject matter, style and materials along the way. Art students are their own characters in this adventure. Important fundamental art lessons are woven into these classes, including value, color, contrast, texture, pattern, line quality space, shape and much more.

Beginners are welcome.

The class is limited to 16 students, with two sessions each Saturday: either 10:30 am to noon, or 1 to 2:30 pm. Masks will be required

To register online, go to www.asaart.net. Under “Events,” scroll to Kids Classes, click a class and find the “Register now” on the right side.

Or, contact instructor Krista Eddy at k.eddyalexander@gmail.com or 541-992-4292.

Drop-ins are also welcome, space permitting, at $5 per class.
