An artistic Edge-ucation
This summer, the Art on the Edge Studio Tour will once again give art lovers the opportunity for an intimate view of Central Coast artists' work, processes and studios. This year’s tour includes 18 studio sites, 35 participating artists and more than 25 mediums.
Get a feel for the event and a peek at some of the art represented on the tour at the Art on the Edge Studio Tour Showcase Exhibit opening this Friday, May 14, at the Chessman Gallery, located inside the Lincoln City Cultural Center.
Running from 5 to 7 pm, the opening reception can be enjoyed in person or from home, as the Virtual Gallery Tour will be posted shortly after the live event on the Lincoln City Cultural Center Facebook page. Entrance to the gallery will be limited to 10 people at a time and appetizers and wine will be available outside and spaced throughout the auditorium.
Also, down the hall you will find Joanne Daschel’s Mosaic Studio, LCCC’s Fiber Arts Studio, Danelle Jones studio and, downstairs, Pam Young’s Clay Studio- all under one roof.
This is also a great time and place to pick up your guide booklets for the tour, happening this year from Friday, May 21, through Sunday, May 23. Booklets will also be available at participating tour sites.
The self-guided Art on the Edge tour of the studio spaces will be open from 11 am to 5 pm each tour day and studio sites range in location from Neskowin to Newport along Highway 101 and then east to Toledo. Experience the rich local arts community, which has the distinction of being located along the beautiful Oregon Coast. The tour booklet also includes many local businesses who have supported the participating artists.
The opening reception begins at 5 pm at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, located at 540 NE Hwy 101. The exhibit will run through Sunday, June 6, available to view from 10 am to 4 pm, Thursday through Sunday.
