Chorale your friends and head to a show

Perhaps the next presentation in the Central Coast Chorale spring concert series, “Voices of Spring!” will help finally break winter’s firm grasp on the Oregon Coast.

With the leadership of Artistic Director Rhodd Caldwell and accompanist Milo Graamans, the chorale will perform three times across Lincoln County on Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30, and Saturday, May 6.

More than 40 Lincoln County singers will perform a variety of songs honoring the many moods of spring. The program includes three works in Spanish from around the world celebrating the diversity of Latino culture and in recognition of Cinco de Mayo.

“From foaming tide to birds in flight, join us as we sing to the turning, turmoil and tingles of the changing season,” soprano Janey Mae said.

The chorale has been an active performing arts group in Lincoln County for more than 24 years. This year, the group is excited to announce a renewed partnership with the Newport Performing Arts Center and a return to the Alice Silverman Theater.

"It's great to be back in the Silverman," board member Katrina Theodore said. "The PAC is the premier venue on the coast and we're proud to be among the theater, dance and music companies that call this place home."

All performances begin at 4 pm. Entry is by a suggested minimum donation of $10. The Saturday, April 29, performance will be at Yachats Community Presbyterian Church, located at 360 W 7th Street. The Sunday, April 30, performance will be at Newport Performing Arts Center at 777 W Olive Street, and the Sunday, May 6, performance is at Chapel by the Sea, located at 2125 SE Lee Avenue, Lincoln City.
