Delve deep at Oceans Art Festival

There are a few more days left to catch the “For the Seventh Generation” pano-mural project on the Lincoln City Cultural Center lawn. But there is more, so much more, than a half-mile of landscape paintings to enjoy this Saturday, July 16. From tide pooling to film viewing, the center is the epicenter for celebrating the last few days of this art installation and coastal conservation project.

Start the day at the Lincoln City tide pools on Saturday morning at 9 am to catch the dramatically low tides. The tide pools are a 10-minute walk from the cultural center, located a quarter mile north on the beach. Bring a camera for this historically low minus-2.2-foot tide.

After a nice walk, head to the center for live music, food and art-full activities from 11 am to 8 pm.

In the afternoon, join an artists’ talk in the auditorium at 1 pm, a “Copper Creature Workshop.” for artists of all ages at 2 pm, music from Blues Variant on the indoor stage from 3 to 5 pm, the “For the Seventh Generation” spoken word program, poetry and readings inspired by the art project at 5 pm. The day wraps up with a short coastal film festival on the contributing artists at 7 pm.

"For the Seventh Generation” will be open to the public from 11 am to 7 pm on Friday, from 11 am to 8 pm on Saturday and from 11 am to 2 pm on Sunday. The Lincoln City Cultural Center is located at 540 NE Hwy. 101. For more information, go to lincolncity-culturalcenter.org or call 541-994-9994.
