Don’t get stuck up a creek without a paddle

Everyone knows how popular trivia is these days, so here are a couple of questions for you to add your reservoir of important knowledge.

Question: What is the fastest growing sport in the US?

Answer: Pickleball

Question: Where are the best pickleball courts on the Oregon Coast?

Answer: Dorchester Park in Lincoln City.

Don’t believe it? Go check them out for yourself when the Lincoln City Pickleball Club host’s its annual kickoff event this Friday, July 22.

All are welcome—residents and tourists, members and non-members, beginners to advanced players. Pickleball play will occur throughout the event, and paddles are available to borrow if you don’t have your own.

Water and refreshments will be provided. Pickleball-related door prizes will be given out to winning ticket holders at the end of the event.

The eight courts at Dorchester have recently been resurfaced and repainted and are state-of-the-art. The club invites you to come out, learn about the game, meet a lot of great people and generally have a (pickle)ball on a beautiful summer evening.

The event begins at 5 pm at Dorchester Park, located behind the Dorchester House on NW 28th Street. For more information, go to the Lincoln City Pickleball Club page on Facebook.

A special “beginners only” clinic will be held Friday from 3:30 to 5 pm.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn the rules and receive instruction from experienced players. No pre-registration is required.
