Drape expectations

You could be forgiven for being all a-flutter when you visit Yachats this weekend to view the 34 art banners proudly flying from light poles along Highway 101.

And if one of the banners looks like the perfect fit for your home or business, you can snap it up by bidding at the Saturday, Oct. 7, Banner Auction, running from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Yachats Commons.

Now in its sixth year, the fund-raiser sees Yachats area artists design and paint the banners that hang on the light poles during the summer. This year’s theme is “Always a Long Story in Yachats.” The project is managed by Michael Guerriero. Polly Plumb Productions holds the fund-raiser and sale of the banners, with proceeds benefiting the Helen West Art Education Foundation as well as funding the next year’s banner project.

To view the banners and read some information from each of the artists about the design they chose, go to https://pollyplumb.org.
