Drop in for some fun in Tillamook

There is still time to build teams for the Tillamook Bay Community College Foundation’s North Coast Throwdown Cornhole Tournament taking place on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds.

Teams will compete in a round robin-style tournament for ultimate cornhole glory, all in the spirit of fun and to support an important cause.

Proceeds go toward the TBCC Career-to-Career Scholarship program. Last year’s event was a great success; with more than 35 teams competing and a great spectator turnout. The foundation raised more than $3,000 for the scholarship.

“We have so many generous sponsors,” Britta Lawrence, executive director of the TBCC Foundation said. “Support like theirs helps students achieve their dreams, reenter the workforce and earn a family-living wage.”

Whether you’re a participant or spectator, the North Coast Throwdown offers a day filled with excitement. Enjoy drinks, live music, an airmail game with cash prizes and food offered by the Rendezvous. Team spots are still available for those interested in competing. A team of two can enter for $50.

The event runs from 11 am to 5 pm at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds. To secure your team entry and spectator tickets, go to Eventbrite.com and search for “North Coast Throwdown” or go to the North Coast Throwdown Cornhole Tournament page on Facebook.
