You can do culture with a small group or no group at all thanks to a new summer concert series from the Lincoln City Cultural Center. Performed to small, live audiences or live-streamed to homes on the Oregon Coast and beyond, the concerts will continue on Thursday, Aug. 6, with a performance from coastal favorites the Perry Gerber Band.

Over the last 40 years, Perry's passion for playing music provided him the opportunity to tour with Sara Evans and The North Santiam Band, opening for acts like Willie Nelson and Tim McGraw. For the past two summers, he's been touring the Northwest at fairs and festivals with Richard, Greg and Norman.

The center’s spacious auditorium will give a lucky 25 people the opportunity for distant table seating, in singles and couples, at 7 pm. Masks are required.

And once tickets are sold out, never fear, the internet is here; all performances will be broadcast from the auditorium to laptops, phones, tablets or TVs through a private YouTube channel.

“The virtual concert experience is being produced by a group of professional sound technicians and videographers, led by director Gray Eubank,” said cultural center Executive Director Niki Price. “They’re capturing great sound and working with multiple camera angles to produce an up-close concert experience for our at-home patrons; I call them The Stream Team, and I’ve been completely excited to see them at work.”

The show will continue the new partnership, “Dinner & A Show” with local restaurants Olde Line Lanes and the Side Door Café.

Meals, $20 per order, are delivered to your home in the Lincoln City area (heat-and-eat style) or hot to the cultural center, about 30 minutes before the show.

The Aug. 6 performance will be catered by Side Door Café, and prepared by executive chef-owner Brooke Price, who will present a salad of organic greens with fresh local berries, candied pecans, gorgonzola cheese and balsamic syrup, and an entrée of Champagne summer corn risotto with a piece of chargrilled salmon. Order by visiting www.sidedoorcafe.com.

The next two concerts will be catered by chef-owner Danelle Lochrie of Olde Line Lanes, who supplied the first show’s repast.

These summer concerts are being carefully planned to adhere to the social-distancing regulations currently in place in Lincoln County. If state or local regulations force cancellations of this concert, ticket-buyers will automatically be issued a full refund.

The next two performers in the series are three-time ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award-winner and DownBeat Critics Poll Rising Star Arranger Ezra Weiss on Wednesday, August 26; and, on Wednesday, Sept. 2, Portland jazz pianist Darrell Grant.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.lincolncity-culturalcenter.org or by calling 541-994-9994. Purchase a ticket to the VIP Live feed, and they’ll send you the link prior to the show.
