Fireworks? Who could re-fuse?

A massive fireworks display will light up the night sky over Chinook Winds Casino Resort on Saturday, June 26, in Lincoln City. And on the same day, to celebrate 26 years in business, the casino will put a sparkle in your belly with free cupcakes in the lobby starting at 1 pm.

Heather Hatton has worked in public relations for Chinook Winds, owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, for 16 years and seen first-hand how the organization responded to the twin challenges of a global pandemic and statewide wildfires.

“I’m humbled to work for a company that takes care of their employees and the community the way that Chinook Winds has over the last year or so,” Hatton said. “They stepped up in a way that I’ve never seen in another company. Anybody in a customer service job is working extra hard this last year with shortages in the workforce and having to enforce state-mandated rules, but we are being taken care of really well here. Not to mention what they did to help fire victims and the other donations they give to support the community this and every other year. We contribute from the casino side as well as with the tribal grants.”

The fireworks tradition has been going on most of the past 19 years.

“The fact that we provide fireworks every year draws tourists and benefits locals,” Hatton said. “This is another thing we do to give back to our community. It’s something people can enjoy without even entering the building.”

Another outdoor element to the celebrations comes courtesy of Explore Lincoln City, which is hiding an extra 26 glass floats on the beach as part of its popular Finders Keepers program.

There is plenty going on inside the building and on the golf course, too. From hot seat drawings to mystery point multipliers, guests have many chances at big prizes.

Anniversary Traveling Klinko, on Friday, June 25, will have drawings from 2 to 6 pm, with each hourly drawing located in a different area of the casino.

Until Sunday, June 27, guests can win up to $35,000 towards a new vehicle at Power Auto Group if drawn to play the “Pick Your Adventure” game. Collect free entries at any promotional kiosk. Or take an Anniversary Max Spin to earn 100 points on your card between midnight and 2 pm, then swipe your card at any promotional kiosk to receive your prize redemption slip. The first 100 guests to redeem their prize slip will receive up to five Max Bet spins on the select “All Aboard” slot machines.

On Tuesday, June 29, earn up to 2,000 points on your card, then swipe it at any promotional kiosk and choose one of the three prizes.

The Brewer’s Classic Golf Tournament adds to the weekend on Saturday, June 26. The 18 hole, four-person scramble is a signature event for golf and brew enthusiasts.
