Focus on photography at Newport show

Stunning images are on show at Newport’s Yaquina Art Gallery during the 39th Yaquina Art Association Photographers annual show, running through Friday, April 28.

The 21 members participating in the show are Andree Devine, Beverly Peterson, Debora Veronneau, Evelyn Sterud, George Meyer, Herb Kateley, Ilene Samowitz, JoAnn Ballantyne, John Culp, John Lavrakas, Jon Lynch, Josephine Allen, Kim Cuc Tran, Mark Svendsen, Melody Lavrakas, Michael Carr, Sheila Ping, Sylvia A. Hosie, Ted Crego, Wallace Kaufman and Walter Duvall.

Linked with the Yaquina Art Association and the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs, the mission of the Yaquina Art Association Photographers is “to encourage and help members to share, teach, learn and grow as photographers.” The group offers the fellowship of photographers and promotes education, personal growth and the enjoyment of photography.

Meetings are held via Zoom every first and third Monday of the month, with the first meeting usually being an educational program related to photography and the second dedicated to competition and critique.

The Yaquina Art Gallery is located at 789 NW Beach Drive, at the Nye Beach turnaround in Newport, and is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm. For more information, go to www.yaaphotographers.org.
