Get a green new deal in Seal Rock
On the other side of the year from its extremely popular wreath and Christmas greens sale, the Seal Rock Garden Club presents the Betty Bahn Memorial Plant Sale this Saturday, June 10.
There will also be a flower show, garden art for sale and a garden bench raffle.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local community organizations.
Founded in 1948, the non-profit organization is a place for coastal gardeners to share their knowledge of plants and a social setting for individuals interested in gardening, conservation and support of community gardening projects. The clubhouse was originally a housing barracks for conscientious objectors during World War II, located at Camp Angell in Waldport. It was purchased at auction for $306 and moved to its present site in Seal Rock in the 1970s.
Saturday’s sale and show runs from 10 am to 2 pm at the Seal Rock Garden Club, located at 10377 NW Rand Street, next to Seal Rock Fire Department. For more information, go to sealrockgardenclub.com.
