Go pound sand

Time to stretch those tendons. The annual Ocean’s Edge 5K, raced completely on sand in central Lincoln City, is set for Saturday, July 16. As always, it takes place at low tide: 9 am sharp, on the banks of the mighty D River.

This event, one of the only all-beach runs on the Central Oregon Coast, starts and finishes on the sand behind Kyllo’s Seafood & Grill.

Glass floats will be awarded to the top female and male finishers, and ribbons will be given to the top three finishers in each age division.

Race-day registration is $30 per person and begins at 7:45 am, ending promptly at 8:45 am.

For registration and information call the Lincoln City Community Center at 541-994-2131 or see www.lincolncity.org. Registration is also available online at www.active.com.
