It’s hard to ignore this Big Easy gala
Good times will be rolling at the Lincoln City Cultural Center this Saturday, May 4, as the Siletz Bay Music Festival’s “Swing Into Spring” fund-raiser conjures Bourbon Street’s party atmosphere.
The festive evening will feature the Big Easy’s down-home food, irresistibly danceable music and silent and live auctions offering an astonishing array of goods and travel experiences.
Entertainment will be provided by the 13-piece band DTW, masters of jazz, funk, R&B and swing, whose spicy mix of classic favorites and rhythmic originals is guaranteed to keep the dance floor active. Dinner will be catered by Rook and Larder, whose farm-to-table approach to down-home cooking has won their Pines Dine food cart a loyal and growing following. A no-host bar will be offering fine wines by J. Wrigley and popular craft brews from Beachcrest Brewing Company.
Items for the silent auction will range from an industrial-sized popcorn machine and fine wines to luxury beauty products and, fittingly, a luxury stay in New Orleans. The live auction will offer sensational travel packages to destinations including Bali, Tuscany and Costa Rica. Guests can also bid on a “brewer for a day” opportunity at Beachcrest Brewing Company and many other unique items. Auctioneers for the live auction will be Lincoln City’s favorite duo, Patrick Alexander and Roger Robertson. A 50/50 raffle will offer guests an opportunity to take home a roll of cash.
The evening will also serve as an official introduction to the festival’s new interim artistic director, virtuoso pianist and longtime festival star Mei-Ting Sun. This year’s new key artwork, designed by Pacific City-based artist Diane Devens will be introduced and a video tribute to the festival’s late, beloved artistic director, Yaki Bergman, will be shown.
Doors will open for the event at 5:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, followed by music beginning at 7:15 pm. The silent auction and video presentation will take place at 8 pm, followed by more music continuing until 9:15 pm. The Lincoln City Cultural Center is located at 540 NE Hwy. 101
