Of course you should go
Calling all patrons of art, culture and community to this year’s Culture, of Course! fundraiser and gala at the Lincoln City Cultural Center on Saturday, Oct. 15.
This year’s theme is “(Art) Work in Progress,” in honor of the Cultural Plaza outdoor renovation project planned for this coming summer. Guests can enjoy great food and wine, bid on live auction items and hear a concert by renowned jazz pianist and composer Darrell Grant. Don’t wait — only 100 tickets are available.
The center’s first in-person fundraiser since 2019, the benefit will feature food from Kyllo’s Seafood and Grill, which will provide a sumptuous plated dinner in the delightfully decorated auditorium. The Taft High School Culinary Team will help serve and prepare the appetizers.
Joining Grant for the evening’s musical entertainment will be solo cellist Billy Michelson (aka Third Seven). Keith Altomare, radio personality and longtime friend of the center, will be emceeing the performances and activities.
Lively evening events will include a mystery wine-pull, the Totally Tangible Paddle Raise and a live auction with items donated by businesses who support the center including:
• From the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, a family membership, a workshop gift certificate, merchandise and a three-night stay in a home at Cascade Head Ranch.
• Dinner for two at The Bay House, along with golf and lodging at the Salishan Coastal Lodge.
• A collection of “Dining Delights in Lincoln City.”
• A private workshop with mosaic artist Joanne Daschel.
• Entry for “Movies Galore” at The Bijou Theatre.
• A shopping spree at Beluga Beads.
The fundraiser will coincide with the installation, on the southern lawn, of a new interactive steel sculpture by Oregon artist Pete Beeman. This installation will begin the process of the plaza renovation project, signifying a new and revitalized center for arts and culture in Lincoln City.
