On course for success

Cultural center dazzles at Culture, of Course!

Calling all patrons of art, culture and community to the Lincoln City Cultural Center for this year’s Culture, of Course! Benefit and Dinner, this Saturday, Oct. 5.

Evening activities will include a musical performance, wine wall, 50/50 Raffle, the Totally Tangible Paddle Raise and a live auction. The theme is “Sparkle,” in celebration of the recently completed Cultural Plaza renovations and a revitalized center. The funds raised will go towards daily operations and expenses, so that the center can continue to be a home for arts and culture in the heart of Lincoln City.

Entertainment includes a performance from acclaimed jazz vocalist Heather Keizur and pianist Steve Christofferson, sponsored by The Berton Family Charitable Trust.

Radio personality Keith Altomare will be emceeing and Oregon State Representative David Gomberg will be the auctioneer. Cultural Center Chef Kevin Baker Smith will be providing a sumptuous plated dinner and the Taft High School Culinary Team will be preparing and serving appetizers.

Live auction items include:

• Stay, Play and Learn at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, a three-night stay in a beautiful Cascade Head Ranch cabin only steps from the Cascade Head Nature Conservancy Trail. Cabin stay paired with a $100 Gift Certificate to Sitka Center and Sitka Center merchandise.

• A Wine Tour package that includes tastings at Silas Wines, Remy Wines and Brooks Winery plus wine country lodging.

• A Musical Experience package, complete with tickets to 2025 season performances by the Newport Symphony Orchestra and Siletz Bay Music Festival and voice or piano lessons with Brandon Lucas.

• A collection of “Dining Delights in Lincoln City.”

• A shopping spree at Lincoln City Outlets.

From now until Oct. 15, a silent auction will be taking bids online at 32auctions.com/COCSilentAuction2024. Silent auction items will also be on display in-person at the Cultural Center until bids close. 50/50 raffle tickets are being sold for a chance to win up to $5,000 and can be purchased in-person at the cultural center or over the phone prior to the event.

Silent auction items include passes to Agate Beach Golf Course and tickets to the Tillamook Air Museum, the Broadway Rose Theatre and the Big Ponderoo Music & Arts Festival in Sisters.

Artistic options include ceramic pieces by local artists, a hand-made “King Tides” quilt by Adrienne Greene and Pat Lay and a Don Saxon photo on metal donated by the Freed Gallery.
