Paper exhibit makes the cut

The April date has been booked for the Newport Paper & Book Arts Festival. To celebrate the 25th year of this popular event, Oregon Coast Council for the Arts presents the Newport Paper & Book Arts Festival Invitational exhibition, open through April 24 in the Runyan Gallery at the Newport Visual Arts Center.

The exhibition will include work by instructors spanning the festival’s 25-year history.

Following the last virtual festival in September 2021, the expanded four-day festival returns April 21 through 24 for in-person learning experiences, with 10 one-day workshops and a pair of two-day workshops being offered on everything book related, from boho journals to Coptic binding and papyrus.

The Newport Visual Arts Center is located at 777 NW Beach Drive and is open Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 4 pm. For more information, go to coastarts.org or call 541-574-3364.
