Party with the fest of them

You are invited to “Swing Into Spring,” as the Siletz Bay Music Festival kicks off its 2022 season with a fundraising dinner at the Lincoln City Cultural Center on Saturday, April 23.

Music will be provided by the Taft High School Jazz Band, with special guest appearances throughout the evening. Personal chef extraordinaire Chef D.J. Mendivel will create a dinner with such exotic fare as Frim Fram sauce, Oss and Fay and Shafafa.

The evening will include a silent auction with themed packages, including music, food and wine, art and travel. An additional paddle raise will support the Taft High School music program.

This annual event helps cover the costs of September’s main event, the Siletz Bay Music Festival, the Oregon Coast’s premier showcase of internationally-acclaimed performers.

The festival is a source of local pride and community-wide support, as people throughout Lincoln City open their doors to host musicians, prepare meals and bring an international flair to the small beach town. Several of the festival’s events are free and accessible to all, at venues in Lincoln City and Newport.

The mission of the festival is to bring multi-genre, world-class music performed by outstanding musicians to the area, to reach across race, culture, age, social and economic barriers and to uplift and educate all people seeking extraordinary musical experiences.

Artistic Director and Conductor Yaacov Bergman has recruited international artists to Lincoln City since the festival’s founding in 2011. Maestro Bergman is also artistic director of the Walla Walla Symphony and the Portland Chamber Orchestra.
