Get some artistic direction for your holiday gift giving at the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts Pop Up Craft Show, running Wednesday through Saturday, Dec. 16 through 19, at the Newport Visual Arts Center.

This celebration of local artists features original artworks under $100 as well as OCCA-sponsored gift items such as art catalogs and books, other Visual Arts Center merchandise and a new Rick Bartow 2021 calendar.

A live-streaming artist talk with Sandra Roumagoux will kick off the show on Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 6 to 7 pm. Roumagoux will unveil her new exhibit catalog, “Sandra Roumagoux: Retrospective,” and discuss her featured paintings in the pop up show.

The show will be open to in-person visits from noon to 4 pm beginning on Thursday, Dec. 17, and select items will be available online through OCCA’s website, with the online show running through December 31. More than 20 local artists are expected to participate.

“We have geared the Pop Up Craft Show to be a real benefit for the participating artists, who currently don’t have as many opportunities to show their work,” said OCCA VAC Director Tom Webb. “Attendees can know that they are shopping local and buying creative.”

The Newport Visual Arts Center is located at 777 NW Beach Drive. For more information, go to coastarts.org.
