Red alert

Each winter since 2017, Manzanita’s Hoffman Center for the Arts has hosted a themed art exhibit. The 2023 exhibit, open from Saturday, Jan. 7, through the end of the month, features artists from Clatsop and Tillamook counties who used a variety of mediums to express their interpretation of the theme “Scarlet.”

An opening reception will be held on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm.

Works on display are available for purchase, with 70 percent of the proceeds going to the artist and the remainder benefitting the non-profit Hoffman Center, created and managed as “a welcoming place for North Oregon Coast residents and visitors to create, explore and enjoy arts and culture.”

The center offers year-round events and workshops in clay, horticulture, visual arts and writing.

The Hoffman Gallery is located at 594 Laneda Avenue in Manzanita and is open Friday through Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. For more information go to hoffmanarts.org or call 503-368-3846.
