Rub shoulders with the upper crust

Even if you have 3,141 things to do this holiday season, you should still try to wedge this one in.  The Food Roots Pie Night Annual Fundraiser will take place at Pacific Restaurant in Tillamook this Saturday, Nov. 4.

The 15th annual gala-style event will include appetizers and eats ready for nibbling, prepared food from Food Roots local producers, live music from Oak Bottom Boys, a Buoy Beer Bar Takeover, pie dessert, a live pie auction by Tillamook YMCA’s Executive Director Kaylan Sisco and a silent auction of goods, services and art from local makers and businesses.

Talented North Coast bakers from several local community food establishments are supporting Food Roots by donating artistic and scrumptious pies. All pies auctioned through this fund-raiser are 100-percent tax deductible, and all sales support Food Roots’ efforts to create a vibrant local food system for the benefit of the North Coast.

Tasty treats range from savory to sweet, comfort classics to inventive and unique. Choose from unique delights like pumpkin cheesecake with a hazelnut crust and sour cream topping, gluten-free cranberry walnut tart, or chocolate peanut butter and coconut cream pie. Longtime favorites like apple, pumpkin and chicken pot pie will help fill out the menu.

Bakers include Pacific Restaurant, The Salmonberry, Adventist Health — Garden Spot Cafe, Buttercup, Roseanna’s Cafe, Big Wave Cafe, Stimulus Coffee & Bakery and Sisters & Pete’s Coffee and Treats.

Doors open at 5 pm. Tickets are $50 each. Pacific Restaurant is located at 205 Main Avenue in Tillamook. For more information and tickets, go to foodrootsnw.org.
