Take a shine to art

The Yachats Arts Guild art show, with the theme this year of "Let the Sun Shine,” is happening on Saturday, July 1, through Monday, July 3. The show will be located at the Yachats Commons in the main purpose room and feature the works of 14 local artists with watercolor, mixed media and collage, acrylic painting, oil painting, photography, graphite drawings, pen and ink and jewelry.

There will be other festivities going on, including the Sunday Farmers Market right outside the venue.

The guild, first started in 2007, has grown to contain 38 local artists, including some of the original members.

The show will be open daily from 9 am to 4 pm at the Yachats Commons, located at 441 Hwy. 101. For more information, go to yachatsartsguild.org.
