Take a stroll with the Lincoln City branch
Though sometimes the winter weather is tough to bear, the bare trees are better for birding.
So, join the Audubon Society of Lincoln City this Saturday, Feb. 10, to look for year-round avian residents such as downy woodpeckers and wintering sparrows in the Friends of the Wildwoods Open Space.
The path through this forested area, located right in the heart of Lincoln City, is mostly flat with easily managed terrain.
All the group’s bird walks are free, family-friendly, easy to moderately easy and no pre-registration or experience is required. Binoculars and guidebooks are provided. Walks are held rain or shine; dress appropriately for coastal weather and muddy trails.
The walk will start at 9 am at the trailhead at 2579 NE West Devils Lake Road. Parking along the street at the trailhead is limited. For more information, go to lincolncityaudubon.org.
