There’s sew much to see at this market

Just about anything that can be knitted, woven, dyed, quilted, coiled, spun or felted will be available for one-of-a-kind gift shopping at the Fiber Artisans’ Market from Lincoln City’s Fiber Arts Studio Gallery.

The market launches this Friday, Nov. 12, with an in-person opening reception from 5 to 7 pm, at the same time as the adjacent Chessman Gallery opening. The market will run through Jan. 2.

Hand crafted items created by the almost 30 participating artists include bookmarks, stockings and stocking stuffers, hand towels, scarves, hats, vests, jackets, jewelry, purses, socks, wall hangings, baskets and quilts.

Contributing professional artists hail from Central Oregon, the Portland area, Lane County, the Oregon Coast and Idaho.

Techniques and creations from the traditional to the exotic include kumihimo, ikat, coiled gourd vessels and botanical dyeing.

New items will be added every week.

The Fiber Arts Studio Gallery, located inside the Lincoln City Cultural Center at 540 NE Hwy. 101, is open from 10 am to 4 pm, Thursday through Sunday and by appointment. For more information, go to LincolnCity-CulturalCenter.org or call 541-342-1973.
