Worth leaving the house for

You can still be social while maintaining social distance when James Keigher and Donnie Macdonald, AKA Men of Worth, continue their streak of summer performances at the Lincoln City Cultural Center.

The center’s spacious auditorium will give a lucky 25 people the opportunity for distant table seating, in singles and couples, at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 22. Masks are required.

Between them, Keigher and Macdonald play eight traditional instruments, from the mandolin to the bodhrán, and sing in English and Gaelic. With a simple presentation and a wealth of stories, Men of Worth will leave you smiling.

You can also help keep the summer streak alive without leaving your house by purchasing a ticket to a live stream of the event, broadcast from the cultural center auditorium to your laptop, phone, tablet or TV through a private YouTube channel.

And if the idea of an actual live (or live-ish) musical performance isn’t already tasty enough, how about dinner and a show? Olde Line Lanes is offering a special menu for this concert, delivered to the cultural center or your home in the Lincoln City area for just $20 per person. The menu is a salad with local greens, berries, goat cheese, local hazelnuts and cider vinaigrette, and a main dish of polenta with tomato and garlic-braised beef or roasted vegetables, both topped with mozzarella and grana padano. To order, head to www.oldelinelanes.com and click "Upcoming Events." Orders are due by Saturday, July 18.

Your ticket purchase supports these fantastic musicians, as well as the cultural center and an adventurous group of local audio and video professionals dedicated to live broadcasts of the highest quality (the LCCC Stream Team).

The Lincoln City Cultural Center is located at 540 NE Hwy 101. For more information or to purchase tickets for the in-person or live-streamed Men at Worth show, go to lincolncity-culturalcenter.org or call 541-994-9994.
