Stunning pieces of jewelry using beautiful natural stones like purple agates are among the work by Katt Wamsley, February’s featured artist at the Pacific Artists' Co-op Gallery in Lincoln City.

Wamsley combines a lifetime love of stones and minerals with a creative vision and various metals to create one-of-a-kind wearable art.

Using wire, stone and years of experience, she is able to create treasures that are both elegant and eclectic. Her jewelry is made with various metals such as copper, sterling silver and 14k gold fill, occasionally combing two metals together to provide a different look. The exhibit includes a new collection, “Amulets,” focusing on powerful statement pendants and Wamsley’s new “Soul Windows” collection, made using delicate slices of agate geodes. In addition to the traditional February birthstone of amethyst, the feature includes fluorite, purple moss agate, and labradorite as well as coastal favorites jaspers, agate, carnelian and others.

“When I sent a picture of the first agate slice pendant to a dear friend, she replied with ‘That’s a window to a soul! I got lightheaded looking at it,’” Wamsley said. “I knew then these would forever be called Soul Windows. And no two are ever the same, I love that.”

The Pacific Artists' Co-op Gallery is located at 620 NE Hwy. 101 in Lincoln City and is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. For more information, go to pacificartco-op.com.
