A sure hit

Welcome to Popcorn Falls, the latest production from Theatre West. The comedy, written by James Hindman and directed by Bonnie Ross, opened on Thursday, Aug. 8 and will continue through Saturday, Sept. 9.

Each actor will be playing multiple roles to tell the story of a small American town whose only claim to fame – their namesake waterfall – has dried up. Now bankrupt, their last chance is a large grant that can only be used if the town produces a play in a week. One big problem: no playhouse. Another problem: no play. Led by the mayor and the local handyman, the enterprising townsfolk try to rise to the challenge and prove that art can save the world.

The talented cast is T. Sean Prescott as Mr Trundle; Scott Ganyo as Joe and Margie; Bryan Kirsch as Austin, Hans and Lydia; Steve Griffiths as Pastor Pete, Mrs. Omki, Miss Brown and Mr. Upmall; Jack Baird as Floyd and Ms. Parker and the wonderful Alice Luchau as Mrs. Stepp, Becky and Mr Doyle.

Showtime is 7:30 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with two Sunday matinee performances at 2 pm on Aug. 13 and 27.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $15 for kids 12 and younger.

Theatre West is located at 3536 SE Hwy. 101 in Lincoln City. For more information, go to TheatreWest.com or call 541-994-5663.
