Clover’s Day is back. Get moo-ving!

A princess strolling down the highway with a cow by her side. Yes, you read that right. To witness this unusual sight, take a trip to Cloverdale for the 41st annual Clover’s Day Celebration this Saturday, July 1. Enjoy arts, crafts, music and entertainment to spend a perfect summer day on the coast and bask in the culture of Cloverdale.

This summer event brings the community together to celebrate the community and history of Cloverdale’s dairy industry. What started out as a group of Cloverdale business owners trying to promote their work and draw people into town has now morphed into much more.

The celebration is run by a group of volunteers encouraging small town pride and heritage by putting on an authentic coastal town party. John Seymour and his wife, Kaylee Seymour, have been running the volunteer group for six years. John believes Clovers Day connects neighbors and friends.

“It is our only event of the year,” he said. “It is the one time the whole town can come together and enjoy being from this area. It is a party for everyone to participate in and be welcomed.”

The day begins with a fun run organized by the local cross country and track team. The two-mile walk and 5k and 8k runs are free to participate in, though donations are welcome.

The parade will begin on the highway at 11 am, featuring classic cars, tractors, dancing horses and old steam whistles. Clover the cow accompanied by the Dairy Princess, will once again lead the parade.

A vendor fair will be held throughout the celebration featuring food, jewelry, beauty products, arts and crafts. Free face painting, giant bubble wands and an area with toy tractors and cows to capture children's attention.

Although John enjoys all aspects of the celebration he admits his “guilty pleasure” is the $1 scoop of ice cream at the Tillamook Feed Store.

The Clover’s Day Celebration will run from 10 am to 2 pm this Saturday, July 1, at 34455 US Highway 101 South, Cloverdale.
