Jovi is a real-world experience in Nye Beach

There are many reasons to plan a day exploring Newport’s Nye Beach. This historic section of town is home to the Newport Performing Arts Center, the Newport Visual Arts Center, a variety of restaurants and a world-class beach. There’s also the shopping at Jovi.
For almost 22 years, Jovi boutique has offered timeless fashions, carpets, hand crafted textiles, crafts, French soaps, candles and inspirational books. Owner Veronica Lundell’s vision was to bring beautiful and unique treasures to this community. While her product inventory and direction have changed throughout the years, Jovi remains consistent by carrying fresh and creative items from around the world.
“We have evolved with the times,” Lundell said. “We are inspired by worldly fashion. Our clothes for men and women have handmade fabrics. Items for home decor are hand crafted as well. In addition, we have all kinds of jewelry from across this country and around the world.”
“We also carry personal accessories for the young and old,” Manager Amanda Canepa said. “We have inspirational books about mindfulness and home decorating.”
Many of their customers are locals, but they also welcome visitors wanting the Nye Beach experience.
“We enjoy the out-of-town customers who come to see us whenever they are in Newport,” Canepa said. “We keep our changing products exciting for our frequent visitors. It is a joy to see people come back here, year after year.”
While Jovi has changed throughout the years, Lundell said their philosophy remains the same. “The name Jovi is inspired by the French ‘joie de vivre,’ which means joy of living,” she said. “Our goal is to give our customers this feeling when they come here. We enjoy being a part of this neighborhood and have evolved with it.”
For this reason, Lundell has chosen not to have a website or participate in social media.
“We do not offer online purchases,” she said. “We want people to come here.”
Shopping at Jovi is a sensory experience, a delight for the eyes and sense of touch. It is a must-stop destination for holiday shopping.
