Join the Newport Symphony Orchestra as it celebrates America’s independence with its annual free community concert on Sunday, July 4. The NSO Brass and Percussion, conducted by Adam Flatt, will perform a special holiday program outdoors on the Newport Middle School football field.

“We are glad that our annual Independence Day community concert returns live this year,” said Music Director Adam Flatt. “Our stellar brass and percussion players will bring all the spark and spirit to the outdoor stage that the NSO summons every year in service to the coast’s community spirit.”

Seating will be on the field, so bring a blanket or outdoor chair.

The concert includes “Fanfare for the Common Man;” a tribute to Oregon Coast

fishermen, “McKinney, Sailor's Delight;” tributes to members of the armed forces; and much more music.

This is the 17th consecutive season of Independence Day concerts. Even during the COVID shutdown last July 4, a radio broadcast of a previous year’s concert was presented to the community with the help of Yaquina Bay Communications.

The concert begins at 4 pm at the Newport Middle School, located at 825 NE 7th Street. For more information, email execdir@newportsymphony.org or call 509-499-2965.
