Pop this one on the calendar
The Lincoln Pops Orchestra is a treasure of the Oregon Coast, playing favorites from the swing era, Latin charts and all kinds of dance music. Its big band sound is produced by four vocalists and musicians playing trumpets, trombones, saxophones, piano, drums, guitar and vibraphone.
After a two-year hiatus, the Pops returns to the Gleneden Beach Community Club on Thursday, May 19, and then every third Thursday for the rest of the year. There is a large wooden dance floor for those who want to cut a rug, and plenty of seating for those who just want to sit and listen.
Refreshments are available.
Tickets, sold at the door, are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. The music gets started at 7:30 pm at the Gleneden Beach Community Club, located at 110 Azalea Street in Gleneden Beach. For more information, call 541-272-9597.
