Take note, in Newport

The Oregon Coast Youth Symphony Festival returns for its fifth season with two free concerts this weekend in Newport. Six Oregon high school orchestras will perform with special guests, the George Fox University Chamber Orchestra, at the Newport Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 21 and Newport Middle School on Saturday, April 22.

The festival is an annual four-day event led by professional music directors and conductors where high school orchestras are invited to learn in small, innovative workshops, perform together and bond with peers.

Both evening performances begin at 7pm. The Newport Performing Arts Center is located at 777 W Olive Street, and the Newport Middle School is located at 825 NE 7th Street.
