The members of the Artists’ Studio Association pour themselves into their work, none so much as March featured artist, Mike Palmer.

Palmer’s acrylic pour art will be on display in the ASA Beachstone Gallery in Lincoln City through the end of the month.

A self-taught artist who loves experimenting with new ideas and techniques, Palmer creates acrylic pours with a wild aspect that portray the abstract sensations and emotions of nature, music and the universe.

Each painting has his signature lotus watermark, with the painting sealed in UV resistant epoxy resin for depth and durability.

Initially a photographer and pressman, he gravitated away from photography and began producing fluid art in 2019. Upon discovering acrylic pouring, he developed a distinctive style all his own. He also dabbles in acrylic brush painting.

Palmer grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to the Oregon Coast in 2016. He currently lives in Lincoln City with his wife, daughter and pets.

The Beachstone Gallery is located at 620 NE Hwy. 101 in Lincoln City and is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
